MediCard's Health Check Review

Whenever we feel something wrong in our body, we want to figure it out so we can address it immediately. Unfortunately, sickness sometimes happens when you least expect it, therefore, it's hard to be prepared. It is the best if you have health card or cash on hand, but what if you don't have any?

I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). This syndrome, however, has no known cure. It is needed for me to visit the doctor every month so that she can check my progress whether or not my menstruation came back to normal. I still don't have a normal menstrual cycle up to now, sad to say.

I had been to four hospital/clinics already, and whenever I visit, my wallet cries in pain. The doctor will just have a quick chit chat, then viola! Goodbye 500 PHP. Hello more or less 1000 worth of medicine.

I felt tired, physically and financially, so I decided to stop and just wait for my monthly visitor, but it never came. I was really worried because I know it was not normal, so I decided to find another clinic or hospital to start another treatment. Luckily, as I was passing along the busy road of Fairview, I saw MediCard’s free standing clinic. It offers wide a selection of memberships, depending on your needs. I immediately signed up to their “Health Check”. The membership fee cost me 500 Php.

I was surprised with the price, because it comes with unlimited consultation, and a flat rate of 350 Php for specialists. In addition to that, health check members get to enjoy 20% discounts on laboratory procedures, and a free annual check up, everything good for one year!

I was really relieved because I don’t need to pay anything whenever I visit the clinic. I just need to call for an appointment and I will be accommodated on the appointment date. Moreover, my OB Gyne, Dra. Lampitoc, is very accommodating and friendly. She really explains my condition very well, so I feel at ease.

For now, I am scheduled for a transvaginal ultrasound to check if I still have polycystic ovaries. The procedure will cost me less than a thousand, compared to my previous hospital’s fee that is 1,500 Php.

I will create a blog regarding my fight against PCOS, so please stay tuned and subscribe 😊 Thank you for reading!
